To stop a large operation from blocking others, open Op. Queue and lower its priority. It then runs only when there’s nothing else waiting in its queue.

What this gets you

  • A very large operation, such as updating thousands of contacts, can take the whole day. Lowering its priority stops it from blocking everything else in its queue.
  • Urgent work keeps moving.

Before you start

  • Jobin keeps a separate operation queue for each connected social account and each email sender. An operation only waits behind others in its own queue.

Steps

  1. Open Op. Queue.
  2. Find the large operation, for example a bulk profile update of thousands of contacts.
  3. Open its priority and choose a lower level. The levels run from Highest down to Lowest: Highest, Very High, High, Medium, Low, Very Low, Lowest.
  4. Raise the priority of any urgent operation so it doesn’t wait behind routine ones.

Tips

  • A bulk profile update starts at Medium. Updating 10,000 contacts can take the whole day, so lowering its priority keeps your normal outreach moving.

Ideas to get more from it

  • Lower any bulk update or large import to Low or Lowest as soon as it appears in the queue.
  • Raise the priority of a time-sensitive operation so it runs first.
