What this gets you
- The right follow-up begins the moment a reply is understood, even when your team is offline.
- Candidates who say not now are kept warm instead of lost.
- You can send each kind of reply to a different next step.
Before you start
- The follow-up sequence already exists. It must be a different sequence from the one you are editing.
Steps
- Open the sequence in the sequence editor and open Reply Identification (Define rules for how contact replies are categorised and routed).
- Find the reply type, such as Maybe - Later, or add your own with a short label that describes the intent.
- Under What should Jobin do?, choose Sequence, then pick the sequence in the Add to sequence list. The list leaves out the sequence you are editing.
- Combine actions if you want: the same reply type can also Tag the contact and move them to a Pipeline stage.
- Save. Check that you picked a sequence for every rule that uses the Sequence action, otherwise Jobin asks you to.
Tips
- A categorized reply ends the original sequence for that contact, which is why the contact can start the next one.
- The Sequence action isn’t available on a system rule that is set to continue or reschedule, because that rule doesn’t end the sequence.
- Nobody has to read the reply for this to work: Jobin matches the intent of the message with AI, and you don’t list sample replies.
Ideas to get more from it
- Send Maybe - Later replies to a nurture sequence that waits a few months.
- Add a referral reply type that starts a sequence thanking the candidate and asking for names.
- Send Interested replies to a scheduling sequence.
