What this gets you
- Your database stays current without re-importing anything. Jobin fetches each person’s latest data directly.
- You can reinvigorate an old database before a campaign, so you contact people at their current role.
- Your saved searches and a job’s ideal candidate profile stay accurate, because they filter on current data.
Before you start
- Link a default social account first. Jobin asks you to if you haven’t, before the update starts.
Steps
- Open Contacts and filter to the contacts you want to refresh. You can also open a saved search.
- Select the contacts, or select everyone who matches your current filter.
- Open the bulk actions and, under Live profile update, choose Update profiles.
- To also refresh contact details, choose Update + contact info instead. It is slower and rate limited, so use it mainly for your 1st connections.
- Follow the progress in the Operations monitor.
Tips
- A very large update can take hours. Lower its priority in the Operations monitor so it doesn’t hold up your other work. See How to prioritize a large operation.
- Keeping data fresh means your saved searches and a job’s ideal candidate profile always filter on current information.
- You don’t need to import career details such as company or location from a spreadsheet. Auto-update fetches them for you.
Ideas to get more from it
- Refresh a saved search’s contacts just before you launch a campaign to them.
- Import spreadsheets with only your own data and let updates fill in the career details.
- Lower the priority of a very large update so your normal outreach isn’t held up.
