What this gets you
- You keep one record per person, so notes, history, and outreach aren’t scattered across duplicates.
- You avoid messaging the same person twice.
- Most duplicates merge automatically. You only decide when two records genuinely disagree.
Before you start
- Jobin treats two contacts as the same person if they share a social profile link, a private email address, or the same name and work email.
Steps
- When the banner Your database has duplicate contacts that couldn’t be merged automatically appears, choose Clean database.
- Review the first duplicate pair. Use the previous and next buttons to move between pairs.
- For each conflicting field, choose Pick new to keep the new value or Keep original to keep the existing one. You can edit either value first.
- To settle every conflict at once, choose Overwrite all conflicting values with newest or Keep all original conflicting values, and confirm.
- When you finish, run the Database health check again to make sure no new duplicates came in.
Tips
- You can snooze the banner for 12 hours if now isn’t a good time.
Ideas to get more from it
- After a fresh import, choose Overwrite all conflicting values with newest. After tidying your own CRM, choose Keep all original conflicting values.
- Run the Database health check after a large import.
- Map a profile link and an email for every contact on import, since those are what Jobin matches on.
