Jobin gives you several ways to build your candidate database. All imported people land in Contacts, where you can tag them, enrich them, and add them to a sequence. You’ll find the tools in the Import contacts menu on the Contacts page, and under Sourcing in the More menu.
  1. Match the tool to where your candidates are. Use the table below: a network, a Boolean search, an address book, a spreadsheet, or CVs.
  2. Decide what to map. For a spreadsheet, import only what is yours (custom fields, contact info, and the profile link) and skip career details, then choose auto-update at the end. Decide tags and pipeline first too: spreadsheet and CV imports let you apply tags, and CV imports let you assign a recruitment pipeline, so a batch is easy to find and work afterwards.
  3. Import. Network imports run in the background. Follow their progress in the Operations monitor.
  4. Review in Contacts. Filter by the tag you applied, and check a few records. Jobin merges duplicates automatically, and alerts you if any need your decision. See Duplicates and merging.
  5. Enrich. Find missing emails and phone numbers. See Contact enrichment.
  6. Put them to work. Assign the contacts to a job, or add them to a sequence.

Choose a method

Social network import

Pull connections, profiles, searches, groups, events, and posts into your Contacts. Options include:
  • Your 1st connections. Imported gradually into your workgroup.
  • One-click profile import. Open a profile you like and import it with the Jobin browser extension.
  • Search results in bulk. Import the results of a search in one go.
  • Group members and event attendees. Import the people in a group or attending an event.
  • Post participants. Paste a post’s link and choose Reactions or Comments.
  • Companies. Pick the companies that matter most to your business.
Progress for these imports shows in the Operations monitor. Both let you search for people on other sites without leaving Jobin.
  • X-Ray search runs a people search on sites of your choice. Your Boolean string transfers into the query automatically, and you don’t need to login to any site. Choose the website and search engine, and use advanced operators such as title, URL, and text matches, and proximity search.
  • Sites search transfers your Boolean string to a designated site’s search. Build it from keywords or a Boolean string, or use the Role Title, Company, Skills, and Locations filters, including Paste list. Save searches under a name to load them later.

Contact Lists

Export your contacts from Gmail, Outlook, Apple, Hotmail, or Yahoo as a CSV file, then bring them into Jobin. Each provider has step-by-step instructions on the page.

.CSV import

Pro tip: import only what is yours, and let auto-update fetch the rest. Map the data only you have: your own custom fields, contact information, and a profile link for each contact. Skip career details such as company, job title, and location. They go out of date, and you can auto-update the contacts so Jobin fetches their latest data directly. The import is quicker, and instead of re-inserting information that may be stale, you refresh your database with current data.
1

Drop your file

Drop a CSV file onto the page and choose the import destination, such as contacts or accounts.
2

Map the columns

Match each column to a Jobin field, or choose Don’t import for columns you want to skip. You can add a custom field, or assign a value to every imported row. Following the pro tip, map your contact information, your custom fields, and the profile link, and choose Don’t import for career details. Map the profile link with the Smart Link Parser, which accepts a social profile or any website link.
3

Tag and decide on conflicts

Apply tags to the imported records. Choose what happens when a value conflicts with existing data: overwrite it if the CSV is newer, ask for confirmation first, or keep the original and ignore the newer data. You can also stop name fields from being overwritten.
4

Review and import

Check the Import overview, then start the import.
5

Choose auto-update

If you mapped a profile link, Jobin asks whether to auto-update the contacts with the latest data. Choose Yes, or Skip auto-update. After the import, contacts that have a profile link are updated with their latest information. Auto-update is an optional add-on. If your plan doesn’t include it, Jobin shows an upgrade prompt and still imports your data.
You can also refresh contacts later at any time. See Refresh profile data.

CV Parsing & Import

Upload one or many CVs or resumes as PDF, DOC, DOCX, or TXT. Bulk import separates uploading, profile matching, and AI parsing, so you can create candidate records quickly without waiting for every CV to finish processing. You can apply tags and recruitment pipeline assignments to the contacts it creates.

Quick add

Choose Quick add > Contact to create a contact without a long form.
  • Paste a full name. Jobin splits it into title, first, middle, and last name.
  • Paste a profile link. Jobin recognizes common professional and social profile links and builds a profile from them.
