Every sequence has a report. It shows who was reached, who engaged, who replied, and what came of it, so you can improve the next campaign.

Watch it live

  1. Open the report for the sequence, and set a date range that covers the whole run.
  2. Check delivery first. If bounces or failed sends are high, fix senders and contact data before you read anything else.
  3. Check engagement. Look at opens, clicks, and invitation acceptance. If open or click tracking is off, treat these numbers with care.
  4. Read the replies. Compare positive and negative replies, and the reply types.
  5. Find what works. Compare channels, steps, and timing to see where replies come from.
  6. Open the people. Select a count to open those contacts in Contacts, then follow up with the positive replies and re-engage non-responders.
  7. Change one thing. Edit a single step, or duplicate the sequence for a bigger change, and compare the next report. Edits only reach contacts not yet queued, so compare the results by when contacts entered the sequence.

Open a report

Open Sequences in the sidebar, then open a sequence’s report.

What the report measures

  • Reach. Contacts assigned and contacts reached.
  • Delivery. Bounces are reported separately from other failed sends, and you can compare bounce and failed-send rates by channel.
  • Engagement. Invitation acceptance, email opens, link clicks, unsubscribes, and overall engagement.
  • Replies. Replies, positive replies, and the split by reply type: for example interested, not interested, inconclusive, out of office, or your own custom types. Human replies are counted apart from out-of-office responses. Switch between broad positive and negative groups and the more specific reply types.
  • Booked meetings. Meetings booked from the sequence, with the step a contact had reached when it was booked.
  • InMail. Contacts who replied to an InMail, and the InMail response rate.
Where a metric isn’t available, the report shows it as unavailable instead of as zero.

Compare channels, timing, and steps

  • Channels. When a sequence uses several channels, compare how email, social, SMS, and others perform.
  • Timing. See activity and replies by date, weekday, or hour, and booked meetings by weekday and time of day.
  • Steps. Compare individual steps to see whether the first email, a follow-up, or a social message is doing most of the work.
  • On the canvas. The analytics view overlays each action’s metrics on the sequence flowchart, with the metrics that suit that action type.
Pick a custom date range to report on any period.

Open the contacts behind a number

Select a count in the report to open the exact matching contacts in Contacts, with the sequence and outcome filters already applied. That works for replies, no response, sent, opened, clicked, positive, not interested, failed, bounced, and unsubscribed groups, by step. Contacts can also be filtered by sequence stage and status, so you can build follow-up segments, such as everyone who replied positively and matches a role or tag.

Keep the data accurate

If open or link-click tracking is turned off for an email sender, the report tells you that engagement may look lower than it really is. See Sending accounts.
