A sequence is an automated outreach workflow: a series of actions Jobin runs for each contact you enroll, across email, social messages, and SMS. Open them from Sequences in the sidebar. For a guided first run, see Create an outreach sequence.

Watch the walkthrough

  1. Plan the sequence. Decide the goal, the channels, and the number of touches before you build.
  2. Create it. Start from a template or a blank sequence, or use Fast Create to draft one with AI.
  3. Add your actions. Add each outreach action, and let Jobin add the Wait steps between them. Complete every action marked Incomplete.
  4. Add smart steps if needed. Use enrichment, conditions, and tasks, and follow every enrichment step with a Condition that checks whether it worked. See Smart sequences.
  5. Set senders. Verify a connected sender for each channel, and check email tracking. See Sending accounts.
  6. Link a job so everyone contacted is tracked in its pipeline.
  7. Fix issues until the sequence shows Ready to start.
  8. Choose recipients and preview. Pick people you haven’t reached yet (see Avoid double-messaging), review the launch preview, and resolve any blocking errors, such as a missing email address.
  9. Launch now, or schedule a start.
  10. Follow it. Watch the Operations monitor, answer replies in the Inbox, and review Sequence analytics.
  11. Improve it. Edit messages and conditions as you learn (changes reach contacts not yet queued), add new steps at the end, and for bigger changes duplicate the sequence and archive the old version.

Build a sequence

Start from a blank sequence, a template, or let AI draft one. The editor is a visual flowchart. Add actions with the (+) buttons, and reorder or branch them as you go. An action marked Incomplete still needs its settings. Choose Fix issues to highlight everything that needs attention, until the sequence shows Ready to start. To make logic smarter, see Smart sequences.

Set up senders and a job

  • Senders. Choose the accounts the sequence sends from. You can use more than one sender to share the work, and a follow-up stays with the sender who started the conversation. Each sequence can also have its own sending schedule. See Sending accounts.
  • Linked job. Link the sequence to a job so everyone it contacts and everyone who replies is tracked in that job’s pipeline. See Job pipelines.

Launch for contacts

Add contacts from Contacts, AI Search, a contact’s Activity or Outreach Sequences tab, or the sequence itself.
  • Avoid messaging anyone twice. With a job linked, the job tracks who was assigned, contacted, and replied. Adding someone who is already in the sequence is skipped. To find people you haven’t reached, filter for the stages before successful outreach, or for Not in this pipeline. See Avoid double-messaging.
  • Preview before you send. The launch preview checks each recipient for the selected channel. It flags missing email addresses and phone numbers and checks social profile and connection availability, separating blocking errors from fallback warnings. It respects private and work email preferences. You can open the sequence editor from the preview and come back to the same preview.
  • Start later. Start the sequence after a delay, or at a specific date and time.
  • Start part-way. Begin a contact at the start, or at a particular stage.

Edit a sequence that already has contacts

Once contacts are in a sequence, Jobin protects the flow they’re moving through. Know these rules before you make changes:
  • You can’t delete steps.
  • New steps can only go at the very bottom of the flow.
  • You can still modify existing steps. Edit a message’s content, change a Condition, or adjust any other step’s settings.
  • Changes only reach contacts who haven’t been queued yet. A contact whose action is already queued in the Operations monitor keeps what was queued. Everyone queued after you save gets the updated version.
To change messages that are already queued, edit those pending operations in the advanced Operations monitor. For a bigger restructure, such as removing a step, duplicate the sequence, make the changes in the copy, then archive the original so it stops accepting new contacts while existing contacts finish.

Manage a running sequence

  • Per contact. On a contact’s Outreach Sequences tab, review upcoming messages, edit eligible messages before they send, or exit the contact from the sequence.
  • In bulk. Use the Operations monitor to retry, skip a step, or edit pending messages for many recipients.
  • Check results. See Sequence analytics.

More ways to create sequences

Create a sequence with AI

Fast Create drafts a multichannel sequence from your goal. Choose the channels (email, social, SMS, or a combination), a goal such as introducing an opportunity, following up, or re-engaging (or write your own), and your tone and extra instructions. Jobin generates a draft you can review. Nothing is sent until you launch, and you can open the draft in the full editor.

Convert a message into a sequence

Turn a one-off message you’re already writing into the first step of a sequence, keeping its message, subject, sender, and linked job. Choose the delay and the next channel, and Jobin creates the wait and follow-up stages for you.

Find and reuse sequences

Filter the sequences list to show only those using social, email, or phone accounts connected to you. Active filters appear as chips you can remove, and the same filters work in the template selector. Duplicate a sequence that works, or turn it into a template. When you create a new version, archive the old one so it stops accepting new contacts while existing contacts finish. This is also how you remove steps, because steps can’t be deleted once contacts are in a sequence.
