# Create and edit a job

> Build a job with AI, set up its hiring workflow, choose who can see it, and collect applications.

The job builder walks you through four steps: **Basics**, **Workflow**, **Publish**, and **Questions**. Start from **Jobs** > **Create job**.
For a guided first run, see [Create and set up a job](/first-job.md).

## Watch it live

* [Jobin.cloud Basics: Jobs, Sourcing, Screening & Sequences (Course 1)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbrjO_kMpGI)

## Recommended workflow

1. **Start from the brief.** Choose **Create job**, then **Autocompile with AI**: describe the requirements or upload the job description as a PDF.
2. **Check the basics.** Confirm the title, employment type, workplace, locations, and employer.
3. **Choose the workflow.** Start from a pipeline template, or add and name your own stages. See [Job pipelines](/job-pipelines.md).
4. **Review before you publish.** Keep the job **Internal** while you check it, then switch to **Public** or **Unlisted** when you're ready.
5. **Set up applications.** Choose how CVs are parsed and where notifications go, then add any application questions.
6. **Share it.** Copy the career page URL, and post it to job boards with [Broadbean](/connect-broadbean.md) if you use it.
7. **Start sourcing.** Run [AI Search](/ai-search.md) with **From Job Description**, then launch a [sequence](/sequences.md) linked to this job.

## Basics

Give the job its core details:

* **Job title.** Required to continue.
* **Employment type**, such as full-time or contract.
* **Workplace.** On-site, hybrid, or remote. For hybrid and remote roles, say how much time is remote, add a base location, and add a workplace note.
* **Locations.** Add more than one.
* **Employer company**, with your branding. Choose **Add your branding** to set up global branding.

### Autocompile with AI

Describe the job requirements, or upload a job description as a PDF, and let AI fill in the details. You can have Jobin auto-localize the
generated content. Once it's done, AI saves the job and takes you to the next step.

## Workflow

Set up the hiring stages candidates move through. You can add, name, color, and reorder stages. See [Job pipelines](/job-pipelines.md).

## Publish and visibility

Choose where the job appears and how candidates apply. A job has one of three visibility settings:

| Setting | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Public** | Visible on your career page and accessible to everyone. |
| **Unlisted** | Reachable with a direct link, but not featured on your career page. |
| **Internal** | Visible only to members of your Jobin workgroup. |

A preview shows the job's link. It says there is no link available while the job isn't visible. You can also set the **notification email** for the job.

### CV parsing for applicants

Choose how Jobin parses CVs that applicants upload:

* **Hybrid (recommended).** Use the applicant's social profile when it's available, and parse with AI when it isn't. This is the best balance of accuracy and cost.
* **Always parse CVs using AI.** The most accurate, but each application uses an AI query.
* **Only parse CVs using a social profile.** The free option. It needs a profile link and may miss information that isn't on the profile.

## Questions

Add questions to your application form. A question can be linked to a [custom field](/tags-and-custom-fields.md), so an applicant's answer is
saved to their contact as structured data you can use in filters and personalized outreach.

* Link a question to an existing custom field, or create a new one while you build the form.
* Choose free-text, number, date, list, or range questions.
* Customize the question and its help text, and mark it as required.
* Preview how the question looks to applicants before you publish.

## After you create it

When the job is created, Jobin shows its **career page URL** and an **internal job link** you can copy. To post the job to job boards and
social channels, use [Broadbean](/connect-broadbean.md).
