# How to use a pipeline template for your jobs

> Standardize your hiring process and save setup time: start every job's pipeline from a proven template.

To use a pipeline template, start a job's pipeline from a built-in Jobin template or one of your workspace templates, and choose a default template for future jobs.

## What this gets you

* Every job starts from the same proven process, which saves setup time.
* Your team follows a consistent workflow.
* Changing the default doesn't affect jobs that already exist.

## Steps

1. Open the job's **Workflow** step.
2. Start the pipeline from a built-in Jobin template or a workspace template, or apply a template to an individual job.
3. Adjust the stages if you need to. See [How to add stages to a hiring pipeline](/how-to/add-stages-to-a-hiring-pipeline.md).
4. To change the default for future jobs, choose the workspace's default pipeline template. Existing jobs don't change when you change the default.

## Ideas to get more from it

* Make a workspace template for each type of client or role.
* Set the template you use most as the default for future jobs.
