# How to skip a sequence step for selected contacts

> Move selected people past their current step without stopping their automation, for example after you've spoken to them.

To skip a sequence step for selected contacts, select their operations in the advanced **Operations monitor** and use the skip action. They move on to the next step and the rest of their automation continues.

## What this gets you

* You move specific people forward without stopping the rest of their automation.
* You avoid sending a step that is no longer relevant.

## Steps

1. Open **Op. Queue** and open the advanced Operations monitor.
2. Select the operations for the contacts you want to move on.
3. Choose to skip the current sequence step.
4. Check how many operations are eligible. Jobin warns you if standalone operations will be ignored, because the action only applies to sequence operations.
5. Confirm. Eligible recipients continue to the next action.
