# How to screen candidates with AI

> Compare many candidates against the criteria that matter to you without reading every profile, on any group in your CRM.

To screen candidates with AI, select them in **Contacts** (or in AI Search results), start AI screening from the action bar, set your criteria, and review the results in Contacts.

## What this gets you

* You compare large groups of candidates against criteria you choose, without reading every profile.
* It works on any segment: a shortlist, a tag, a filtered list, or a whole pipeline, not only one AI Search.
* You keep the final decision. Each candidate's screening report stays on their profile.

## Steps

1. Define the group: filter **Contacts** to the segment you want, open a shortlist, tag, or pipeline, or select candidates in AI Search results.
2. Start AI screening from the Contacts action bar.
3. Generate criteria from a prompt, a job description, or an existing job.
4. Refine the criteria. You can have up to 20, each with an importance and a category, and you can reorder them.
5. Run the screening. You can keep working while it runs.
6. Review the results in **Contacts**, and combine them with your usual filters.
7. Open a candidate's profile to read their AI screening report.

* Revisit earlier screening runs from the Contacts filters.
