# How to find candidates with AI Search

> Go from a role or job description to a ranked, explainable shortlist of candidates in minutes, with no Boolean strings, then contact them straight away.

To find candidates with AI Search, open **AI search** in the sidebar, describe the role you're hiring for (or paste a job description), review the ranked matches, and shortlist the best ones.

## What this gets you

* You go from a job description to a ranked list of candidates without writing Boolean strings or tuning filters by hand.
* Each candidate has a fit score and the evidence behind it, so you can see why they match and where the gaps are.
* Sourcing and outreach happen in one place, so a shortlist can become a conversation without exporting anything.

## Steps

1. Open **AI search** in the sidebar.
2. Describe the role and background you need, or choose **From Job Description** and paste a job description you already have.
3. Review the criteria Jobin builds from your description: must-haves, nice-to-haves, and exclusions.
4. Open the ranked results. Each candidate has a fit score and a match verdict, and you can inspect the evidence behind each requirement.
5. Shortlist the strong matches, and mark the rest **Not a fit**.
6. Select your shortlist and choose **Outreach** to contact them with a saved sequence or a new message.

## Tips

* Keep must-haves to what is truly essential. A must-have that is too strict removes good candidates.
* Link the sequence you use to a job so replies are tracked in that job's pipeline.

## Ideas to get more from it

* Paste the job description of every new role into AI Search as soon as you open it, so you have a first shortlist before your kickoff call.
* Hand this workflow to a junior sourcer or assistant. The criteria and evidence help them produce consistent results.
* Reopen a search later and Jobin takes you straight back to the candidates still awaiting your decision.
