# How to find candidates who are not already in your CRM

> Focus your sourcing on genuinely new prospects: filter out people already in your CRM, already contacted, in a sequence, or unsubscribed.

To find candidates who are not already in your CRM, use the CRM filters in AI Search: filter by CRM membership and choose to focus on candidates **not yet in the CRM**.

## What this gets you

* You spend your time on new prospects instead of people you already know.
* You avoid contacting someone twice, or someone who opted out.
* You can see at a glance whether a candidate is already in your CRM or is an applicant.

## Steps

1. Run your search in **AI search**.
2. Open the filters and filter by **CRM membership**. Choose to focus on candidates who are not yet in the CRM.
3. Exclude candidates who have already been contacted.
4. Exclude candidates who are already in an outreach sequence.
5. Exclude unsubscribed contacts, so you never reach out to someone who opted out.
6. Optionally include or exclude candidates by contact tag, or use job pipeline membership as a filter.

## Tips

* Each AI Search result shows whether the candidate is already in your CRM or is an applicant.

## Ideas to get more from it

* Start every sourcing session with the **not yet in the CRM** filter, so every result is new.
* Exclude candidates already in a sequence before you launch another one.
* Use job pipeline membership as a filter to skip people already in a specific job.
