# How to export contacts to a CSV file

> Get your contact data out for reporting, sharing, or backup, with exactly the fields you choose.

To export contacts to a CSV file, select them in **Contacts**, open the bulk actions, choose **Manage records** > **Export contacts**, pick **CSV File**, select the fields, and start the export.

## What this gets you

* You get a file with exactly the profile, career, contact, and education fields you need.
* You can export a selection or everything that matches a filter.
* It's a quick way to share data or keep a copy.

## Steps

1. Open **Contacts** and select the contacts, or select everything that matches your current filters.
2. Open the bulk actions and choose **Export contacts** under **Manage records**.
3. Under **Choose Export Format**, select **CSV File**.
4. Under **Select Fields to Export**, choose the profile, career, contact, and education fields you need.
5. Start the export. Jobin emails you a download link shortly.

## Tips

* Exports can use credits, depending on the fields you choose and your plan. Jobin tells you before the export if you don't have enough.

## Ideas to get more from it

* Export a filtered segment for a client report.
* Choose only the fields you want to share, to keep other data private.
* Send the same data to [Make.com](/how-to/send-contacts-to-make.md) when you want it to flow into your own automations.
