# How to create a follow-up task for a candidate

> Never forget a follow-up: create a task linked to a candidate with a date, priority, and assignee.

To create a follow-up task, choose **Add task** in a contact's profile header. The task is linked to the contact automatically, and you set the date, time, and details.

## What this gets you

* Follow-ups don't slip, because each task is linked to its contact.
* Tasks appear when you open the contact, so context is always in front of you.

## Steps

1. Open the contact's profile and choose **Add task** in the header. Or use **Quick add** > **Task** anywhere.
2. Set the date, time, and details.
3. Set the priority and assignee, and add the task to a queue if you use queues.
4. Save. The task appears in **Tasks** and, when you next open the contact, on their profile.

## Ideas to get more from it

* Create a task straight after a call, while the details are fresh.
* Assign tasks to teammates and add them to a shared queue.
