# How to add stages to a hiring pipeline

> Make the pipeline match your real hiring process, so you can see where every candidate stands at a glance.

To add stages to a hiring pipeline, open the job builder's **Workflow** step, click **Add stage**, name it, save it, and drag it into position.

## What this gets you

* Your pipeline matches how you actually hire, so you can see exactly where every candidate stands.
* Colors and order make progress easy to read.

## Steps

1. Open the job's builder and go to **Workflow**.
2. Click **Add stage** below the stage list.
3. Name the stage, such as *Technical interview*, and choose **Add** to open its settings.
4. Set its name, color, and details, then click **Save stage**.
5. Drag the stage's handle to reorder it. With a keyboard, press **Space**, use the arrow keys, then press **Space** again.
6. Click **Save and close**.

## Tips

* Jobin also manages some stages for you, such as **Assigned**, **Rejected**, and **Accepted**.

## Ideas to get more from it

* Add a stage for each real step, such as a technical interview or a client interview.
* Use a [pipeline template](/how-to/use-a-pipeline-template.md) once you have a process that works.
