# How to add a phone number for SMS outreach

> Text candidates from Jobin: add a virtual phone number, register it for US SMS if needed, and use it in sequences and the Inbox.

To add a phone number for SMS outreach, open **More** > **Quick add** > **Phone sender**, choose a country and number type, and add the
number. For US numbers, complete the A2P 10DLC registration before you send.

## What this gets you

* A dedicated number for candidate texts, separate from your personal phone.
* SMS steps in your [sequences](https://docs.jobin.cloud/sequences.md), and SMS replies in the [Inbox](https://docs.jobin.cloud/inbox.md).
* A registered US campaign, so carriers deliver your messages.

## Steps

1. Open **More** > **Quick add** > **Phone sender**.
2. Choose the **Country** and the **Number type**, such as mobile or toll-free.
3. Pick a number from the list. Each one shows whether it supports SMS and voice.
4. Confirm the purchase.
5. For a US number, complete the **A2P 10DLC registration**: your business details, the campaign use case, sample messages, your opt-in and
   opt-out messages, and links to your privacy policy and terms.
6. Once approved, add an SMS step to a sequence, or reply to texts in the Inbox.

## Tips

* US registration is handled through The Campaign Registry, and carriers charge a registration fee.
* Manage your numbers and their limits under **Phone numbers** on the sending accounts dashboard.
