# GDPR compliance

> Use Jobin's built-in tools for unsubscribe links, email footers, interest logging, purpose tags, and data retention.

The **GDPR Compliance Center** collects Jobin's tools for respecting candidates' data rights. Open it from **More** > **Workspace** > **GDPR**. It shows your
compliance status across the areas below.

## Recommended workflow

1. **Open the GDPR Compliance Center** and review your status.
2. **Turn on the unsubscribe button** for outbound emails.
3. **Turn on the GDPR email footer,** and preview it.
4. **Use a transparent first message** in your outreach, and record legitimate interest in your sequences.
5. **Tag the purpose** you hold each contact's data for.
6. **Set a retention routine.** Set up re-engagement for active candidates, and review inactive or rejected candidates with the bulk delete tool on a regular schedule.

## Email

* **Unsubscribe button.** Add a one-click unsubscribe to every outbound email. Unsubscribed contacts are left out of standard Contacts searches, so you don't
  contact them by mistake. See [Contacts](/contacts.md).
* **GDPR email footer.** Add an automated footer to all outbound emails. Preview it, and turn it on or off.

## Social outreach

* **Transparent first message.** Open outreach with a message that explains why you're contacting the person, and show your legitimate interest.
* **Interest logging.** Record the legitimate interest in an outreach sequence.

## Purpose tags

Tag contacts by the purpose you hold their data for, to keep purposes separate and stay compliant.

## Data retention

Manage the candidate data lifecycle with a retention policy.

* **Active candidates.** Set up re-engagement.
* **Inactive or rejected candidates.** Use the bulk delete tool to remove candidates you no longer have a reason to keep.
