# Find candidates with AI

> Your first step: describe the role you're hiring for, shortlist candidates, and start outreach from AI Search.

**Step 1 of 3 · 2 minutes · Needs AI Search access**

AI Search finds candidates from a plain description of the role. In this first step you run a search, shortlist two
candidates, and see how outreach starts.

## What you'll do

If you're new to Jobin, a **Welcome to Jobin** window offers a short demo video and two choices: **Find candidates** to start
the guided search, or **I'll explore on my own**.

**1. Find candidates**

Open **AI search** in the sidebar. Describe the role and background you need.
If you already have a job description, choose **From Job Description** to use it instead.

**2. Shortlist two candidates**

Choose any two profiles that look promising. You don't need to pick a specific one. Your progress shows as 0/2, 1/2, then 2/2.

**3. Review your shortlist**

Open the **Shortlisted** tab when you're ready to continue.

**4. Select your shortlist**

Open **Select**, choose **Select all**, then pick the number of shortlisted profiles available on your current plan.

**5. Start outreach**

Choose **Outreach** to open the outreach flow for the candidates you selected.

**6. Choose an outreach type**

Switch between **Saved sequences** and **New message** to finish the tutorial.

## What you'll have afterwards

* A search for your role in AI Search.
* A shortlist of candidates you can come back to.
* A first look at the two ways to reach out: with a saved sequence, or with a new message.

## Tips

* Describe the role the way you'd brief a colleague: job title, seniority, location, and the background that matters.
* Starting from a job description is quicker if you already have one written.
* You can run the tutorial again at any time from **Getting started**.
