# How to connect ChatGPT to Jobin

> Connect ChatGPT to Jobin as a custom MCP connection so you can search contacts, review candidates, and run outreach by chatting with ChatGPT.

To connect ChatGPT to Jobin, add Jobin.cloud as a custom MCP connection in ChatGPT using the URL `https://mcp.jobin.cloud/mcp`, sign in to Jobin when prompted, and enable it in a new conversation.
The controls available to you depend on your account and workspace policy.

## What you can do once connected

Your assistant works with your Jobin data in plain language, so you don't switch between tools. For example, you can ask it to:

* **Find and review contacts** by role, location, tag, sequence, or tenure, and read their profiles, notes, and activity.
* **Prepare outreach** by reading a contact's timeline and drafting personalized ideas.
* **Keep records current** by creating contacts, adding tags and notes, and requesting enrichment, with your approval.
* **Work with sequences and pipelines** by finding sequences, adding contacts, moving them between stages, and reviewing performance.
* **Manage follow-ups** by reviewing tasks and creating new ones.

Your connection's permissions decide which actions are available. See the [Jobin MCP overview](/jobin-mcp.md) and the [capabilities reference](/mcp-reference.md).

## Before you begin

* An active **Jobin.cloud** account.
* A ChatGPT account or workspace that allows custom MCP connections.
* The Jobin MCP connection URL:

```text theme={null}
https://mcp.jobin.cloud/mcp
```

> [!NOTE]
>
> For managed workspaces, an administrator may need to allow the connection and its actions.
> See OpenAI's current [connection instructions](https://developers.openai.com/plugins/deploy/connect-chatgpt)
> and [workspace controls](https://learn.chatgpt.com/docs/enterprise/apps-and-connectors).

## Set up the connection

**1. Open the connection settings**

Open ChatGPT's plugins or integration settings and choose the option to add a custom MCP server, if available.

**2. Name it and add the URL**

Name it `Jobin.cloud` and enter `https://mcp.jobin.cloud/mcp` as the public endpoint.

**3. Authorize and create**

Complete Jobin authorization, review the discovered tools, and create the connection.

**4. Use it in a conversation**

Enable Jobin in a new conversation.

## Check the connection

Ask ChatGPT:

> Check my Jobin.cloud connection.

Then try a search:

> Find contacts named Sarah in my Jobin workspace.

Your connection's permissions determine which actions are available. Read access lets ChatGPT retrieve information;
write access lets it carry out changes with your approval. Ask it to check the current connection permissions
before your first action.

## Troubleshooting

> **I can't find the option to add a custom MCP server**
>
> Availability depends on your account and workspace policy. In a managed workspace, ask an administrator to allow
> the connection. See OpenAI's [connection instructions](https://developers.openai.com/plugins/deploy/connect-chatgpt).

> **ChatGPT is missing a Jobin tool or field**
>
> Refreshing tools and signing in again are different things. Follow the [refresh guidance](/jobin-mcp.md#refresh-tools-in-chatgpt-or-another-mcp-client) to confirm what Jobin supports
> and refresh the connection only if needed. In a managed workspace, an administrator may need to enable the updated tools.

> **Sign-in is failing or looping**
>
> Check that the connection is enabled and its credentials are valid. Use ChatGPT's sign-in or reauthorization flow for
> expired credentials or missing scopes.

> **Searches return the wrong data or nothing**
>
> Jobin MCP works in one workgroup at a time. Ask: *"List my accessible workgroups and tell me which one is active."*
> See [Switch workgroups](/jobin-mcp.md#switch-workgroups).
